Cleaning Trumpets
-
You'll need a flexible cleaning brush or a cleaning snake, a valve brush, and a mouthpiece brush.
-
You'll also need a good quality valve oil and slide grease if you want to make your trumpet last. The valves of a trumpet need a film of oil on them to work well.
-
You also need slide grease for the main tuning slide and second valve slide. If you don't grease these slides, they will wear, and your slide might start moving when you least expect it, which will throw you out of tune.
Cleaning Trombones
-
You'll need a flexible snake cleaning brush for the trombone and a mouthpiece brush.
-
You'll also need a lubricant for the slide and tuning slide.Slide-o-Mix, a 2 part solution, gives great results.
-
Use Superslick trombone cream regularly to provide a smooth and silent slide action.
How to Practice without Disturbing the Neighbours
-
A good practice mute lets you practice in the middle of the night without disturbing anyone.
-
We sell straight mutes, cup mutes and the Harmon style or Wah-Wah mute.
Trumpet and Trombone Stands
-
The safest place for a brass instrument when it isn't being played is in the case. For practice and performance an instrument stand is a secure place for the brass instrument to sit. Stands start at $20.00.
When the Trumpet Mouthpiece Gets Stuck
-
A common accident is getting a trumpet mouthpiece stuck. Bring the trumpet into Crescendo Music where we have the apparatus to safely remove it.
